Fingernail fungus?

How can I get rid of fungus in the fingernails and toenails?Fingernail fungus?
You can continually douse them with Tinactin or another over-the-counter anti-fungal, daily, for more than a year, or you can get a prescription from your doctor that you take for about 3-6 months and it will go away.

It takes quite awhile to get rid of fungus under nails.Fingernail fungus?
I have found you can get rid of toenail fungus by putting vicks vapor rub on your toenails each night before bed then put on white socks. The next morning you will see an improvement. continue this procedure every night for several nights and that fungus will dissappear. I have not tried this on finger nails but I bet it would work on them as well.
There are some treatments in beauty supply stores for the fingernails. The toenails however are bit harder to get rid of. Normally you have to get a prescription medicine to take to get rid of toenail fungus and that still is no guarantee. It can always come back. Most of the time insurance will not cover these meds unless the toenails have become painful or uncomfortable to live with. It's considered ';cosmetic';. The prescription itself will leave you around $300 out of pocket for a one month supply and it normally takes 3 to 5 months to completely rid yourself of toenail fungus. If you're gutsy, you can ask your doctor to remove the toenail completely then use a topical fungus remover on the nail bed until your nail grows back which can normally take up to a year to grow back. Good luck.
Lamisil. Dr. has to prescribe it though and before that you must get a liver analysis.
