How do you know the dog has foot fungus? Did your veterinarian advise you to apply Monistat to his feet?Fungus on my dogs feet.?
Do not use Monistat on your dogs' feet - Yes, it can hurt him. It's never safe to use human products on your pet without consulting your veterinarian first.
There are shampoos and wipes made for dogs that will rid him of the fungus. Keeping the paws dry, and the fur in between the pads clipped very short, will help keep the moisture away, and should help to resolve the problem.
If your dog has a reddish tinge to his paws, and/or you notice him licking them a lot, there may be something more going on, such as boredom, stress, or a food allergy. A visit to the vet is in order, to rule out these conditions, and to get appropriate treatment.
Good luck.
