Cotton fungus on female betta!?

I just bought a female betta ( an hour ago) from wal-mart that already had cotton fungus on her. I bought meds for it too. How long until it starts to clear up??

(i've turned into a fish rescue lol b/c wal-mart is terrible taking care of their fish)Cotton fungus on female betta!?
if you REALLY want to help the fish at walmart, please stop buying them altogether. by buying them, you are increasing the demand for fish being sold there so they will continue to do so. if no one buys the fish, then they'll have no other choice than to stop selling them. i know you want to rescue them, but you're doing more damage than good.

anyway, my female betta had cotton fungus too. i bought this antibiotic that you put into the water, only a couple drops, but ultimately she did not make it :/ there may be something wrong with your water and the ph level, so ask if you can bring it to the pet store so they can check it out, thats what i did.

good luck!Cotton fungus on female betta!?
That is caused by unclean living conditions. I would recommend cleaning the bowl or tank with a water-bleach mixture, let it soak for about a minute, and then rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry. I wouldn't have high hopes for the current fish, but better luck next time.
